Yes, Garland, they did save the McDonald’s in Downey but I don’t think it is an operating one (although I think there is an operating one next door to it.)

Great story for summer travel. One word of advice. Make sure you call ahead to make sure the tour schedule mirrors your arrival schedule.

After reading your article, memories of a long drive to the Crayola Factory in PA on a family vaca came back to haunt me. As we got close to town, you could smell the crayons being made…unfortunately CLOSED as we arrived 10 minutes late for the tour.
