Pepsi Brings Back Classic Packaging, Again

Throwback PepsiIt’s back 40 years for Pepsi (NYSE: PEP), which is again offering an old-style Pepsi. At right, a stack of Pepsi cartons at the Publix at Bay in Sarasota.

It’s a trick right out of the Old Coke playbook, and it has fans happy. Richmond writer Mariane Matera says on her Twitter page that heritage Mountain Dew and Pepsi are all at Richmond’s Ukrop’s. She says that her “dining room is full of cartons. I’m trying to keep them from yanking it again.”

BrandlandUSA profiled the retro drinks last spring, when Pepsi did a retro car with Jeff Gordon.

Apparently, the Pepsi hit shelves again Dec. 28, 2010.

  1. I use to drink pepsi then stopped because I liked Coke better. I recently bought pepsi becauce it was on sale. Too sweet. But my bigger issue is; why is the pepsicola still allowed and why would they want to put bomide in their mountain dew and orange drinks? I love mountain dew and orange but I will no longer buy them because I have noticed everytime I drink them I get an upset stomach. I recently found out bromide in the products is probably the reason. I will no longer buy any pepsi product including gatorade which my son loves.
