Briefly: NACCO Rocks New Look for Corporate, Coal, Mining & Mitigation Units

CLEVELAND – What was formerly the North American Coal Corporation has a new logo and name, NACCO Natural Resources. The new look all has its business units, each with separate logos, all under the headline of Bringing Natural Resources to Life.

The company dates from 1913, when entrepreneur Frank E. Taplin established The Cleveland & Western Coal Company. The company became North American Coal Corporation in 1925. It has been in coal and natural resources, though in 1988 it purchased Proctor-Silex, which it sold in 2006. It had also owned forklift maker Hyster-Yale, under the corporate name NACCO Industries.

NACCO (NYSE: NC) is publicly traded on the NYSE, and includes the following units:

  • North American Coal operates surface coal mines for power generation and activated carbon applications. nacoal.com
  • North American Mining is a miner and producer of aggregates, lithium and other minerals. namining.com
  • Mitigation Resources of North America provides stream and wetland mitigation. mitigate.pro
  • Catapult Mineral Partners acquires and develops new mineral interests. catapultmp.com
