One of the biggest search items for BrandlandUSA is the cold cream from Dorothy Gray called Satura. Dorothy Gray was one of the biggest cosmetic brands of the mid 20th century. Read our post on the history of Dorothy Gray in our post on Remembering Dorothy Gray. Sadly, since our story, the company has gone into receivership, and Walgreen’s no longer lists the product as for sale.
We looked online at the Vermont Country Store and could not find it there either.
Read Remembering Dorothy Gray. Like Pacquin and Charles of the Ritz, it is one of the great old cosmetics brands.
Take a peek at this ad for their cold cream. Talk about edgy! It’s radioactive. This Dorothy Gray cosmetics commercial, advertises a new face cream that’ll remove ANYTHING from your face. To prove it, they put radioactive ingredients and used a Geiger counter.
Not the same. Greasy…
The Dorothy Gray Satura on Amazon.com is an
altered recipe and not the original; the product they are selling as Satura now is a jar of grease made with paraffin and is nothing like the original.
The Dorothy Grey CREAM is NOT RADIOACTIVE! The dirt it removes in the commercial is!! Watch it and listen, you've got it wrong.
