Kmart Brings Back Lay-away. The Savings Place?

October 18th, 2008 · No Comments

By Garland Pollard

We thought that the discount store layaway was gone. But this season, Kmart is pushing it in a new series of ads. In fact, in the small print on the ads, Kmart announces that they are the only major national retailer that does it.

Good idea. While cannot predict what will happen to Kmart, it is clear that they need to BE Kmart if they are to survive. They need to be downscale, and everything that is modest, but essential.

The Savings Place.
